graphic Jennifer Tandy founder of Nightingale Music, studied Music Education, Vocal Performance, and Drama at the University of Oklahoma. She has taught choral performance at the primary level as well as teaching both voice and piano privately. Jennifer is a member of the San Diego chapter of the American Orff Schulwerk Association as well as a member of the National AOSA. She is also an active member of the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association (ECMMA). Jennifer has performed in over 40 professional productions around the country and enjoys bringing her performance experience to class. Jennifer credits her 3 young children for her creative, musical inspiration!

graphicBeth Koether has a Bachelors of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences in Music with an emphasis in Music Education from San Diego State University. She also has Associate degrees in General Education, Child Development and Music. Beth has taught choral music to elementary age children as well as private voice. She is a member of the San Diego chapter of the American Orff Schulwerk Association as well as a member of the National AOSA . She is also a member of the local and national chapters of the Early Childhood Music and Movement Association (ECMMA). Beth assistant directed "Beauty and the Beast" with CCT at the beautiful Mt. Helix Theater. Beth has also enjoyed playing clarinet for CYT shows and loves performing in CCT productions! Beth has been with Nightingale Music for over 5 years and is loved by all who know her!

Lyndsey Blurton Lyndsey, originally from Washington State, attended undergrad at Washington State University and graduate school at California State University, Northridge, with a degree in Music education with an emphasis in Vocal Performance. Lyndsey has performed in over 30 operas and musicals, and she currently plays with two local San Diego bands, singing jazz and blues. As well as working at Nightingale Music, she teaches private piano and vocal lessons. Lyndsey is very excited to be a part of the Nightingale family!

Brett Wagner Brett, a San Diego native studied piano and music education at San Diego State University as well as at the Musician's Institute in Hollywood California. He has been playing the piano for 20 years and has taught private and group piano for over 8 years. Brett has played with numerous bands and is a freelance piano performer. He has opened for the San Diego Symphony at the Summer Pops Concert for the last 5 years in a row. Brett's extensive experience teaching children in a group setting as well as his incredible talent as a performer creates a perfect teaching style inspiring kids to love the piano.

Nicki Carano is an incredible drummer and San Diego native who has played in bands all over the world. Nicki has perfromed with the United States Military Tours AKA and AFE in Africa, the Persian Gulf, Kosovo, Kuwait and Iraq. She has played everything from television specials, stage tours, musical theater and industrials in her expansive drumming career. Nicki has performed with many bands including Nectarine, Groove Syndicate, Art Deco, R.A. Brotherhood, Get the Girl, just to name a few. She has taught at the Coronado School of the Arts and currently teaches at UCSD. Nicki is very excited to offering this new class at Nightingale Music!

Heidi Fairbanks Hachtman has a B.A. in Fine Arts/Vocal Music from Brigham Young University-Hawaii. Heidi was a top 30 finalist and featured singer on the live auditions on American Idol in San Francisco and Seattle. She has performed with the Honolulu Oprea Theater, the Voices of Peace Benefit Tour which included performances at the Tokyo Opera Hall, the Meiji Shrine, and the Kyoto Palace. Heidi has taught priviate choral music and private voice for 5 years and brings her experience and extraordinary vocal talent to Nightingale Music voice classes. Her vocal expertise, gentle spirit and sincere love of children creates the perfect combination for teaching our littlest ones in our "mommy and me" classes. We are fortunate to have Heidi's incredible talent at Nightingale Music!

Summer Mencher-MTBC has a Bachelors of Music (voice emphasis), Music Therapy degree from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass. She has taught voice and guitar and currently teaches with "Guitars, We Come To You". Summer has worked with special needs children through the Aurora Behavioral Health and MusicWorx of California. Through Berklee, Summer worked with music therapy in orphanages in Kenya. She is a member of the national chapter of the American Orff Schulwerk Assoc. as well as a member of the Early Childhood Music and Movement Assoc.(ECMMA). Summer is thrilled to be sharing her incredible talent with Nightingale Music!

Daniel Crawford Daniel is a San Diego native and has been playing guitar since the age of 11. Daniel has his Bachelors of Fine Arts with Guitar Performance emphasis from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Under the study of David Tannenbaum and Marc Teicholz he aquired his degree in Classical Guitar. He now splits his time between teaching, recording and performing. As a teacher he has worked with hundreds of students of all ages and skill in both one on one and in class settings. Currently he splits his teaching time between private lessons and classes at Grossmont Union High School Adult Program. As a performer he plays in all genres from classical and jazz to rock and pop with a long list of musicians in and out of San Diego. Daniel's combination of focused instruction, fun-recognizable material and cool hip teaching style all translate into the perfect method for engaging young people to learn the guitar.

Alanah Clarke is an accomplished singer with years of performance experience. Alanah Clarke graduated Cum Laude from the University of Florida in 2010 with a Bachelors degree in Music (emphasis on voice). She was born and raised in Miami, FL and recently moved to San Diego to perform with the San Diego Opera in their Turandot production. Alanah has performed in numerous concerts and operas in venues worldwide. Her sincere love of children and wonderful vocal talent create a warm, harmonious and loving classroom. Alanah feels so blessed to have become a part of the Nightingale Music family!

Katie Bunker originally from Fresno California, has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music ( Vocal Emphasis) from Point Loma Nazarene University. Katie has extensive performing experience, including lead roles in dozens of Operas and Musical Theater productions, numerous concerts and recitals, and as the vocalist for Point Loma’s jazz band for 3 years. Katie started her musical career at the tender age of 5, when she starred as the "Head Oompa Loompa" in Charlie and The Chocolate Factory! She grew up performing with Fresno's Children's Musical Theaterworks, ( ages 5-18) and gained a love for drama, dance, performance, and kids in the process! Katie has performed with several elite choral and singing groups, and is also an experienced percussionist. She spent her first two summers in college studying classical music at San Diego's Opera Institute and Pepperdine's SongFest, and her last two summers leading music and games for kids at camps throughout Arizona, New Mexico and California. Katie is a frequent performer in several venues in the San Diego area. Katie's passion for music, her enthusiastic and positive personality, her dramatic flair and her heart for kids has found a perfect home at Nightingale!
